Boater Guidelines:

All boat sizes and types are eligible.

Boats must be at the Escatawpa River west of the 613 bridge by 4:45pm.

Christmas by the River committee will designate a “lead boat” that will start the parade at dusk around 5:00pm.

Each boat will file in one by one toward the boardwalk following the lead boat. Santa Claus will be aboard the last boat.

Lead boat will circle the boardwalk and continue around until the last boat has made a pass. No boat should break the line or anchor before Santa’s boat has docked.

Use channel 06 for communication. U.S. Coast Guard will be present for any assistance.

Keep a minimum of 150 feet between boats and please try to maintain an even speed.

Decorate your boat and be festive but please do not have a “live” Santa as part of your theme. Plastic and blowup Santas are acceptable.
Boat Competition:
Remember when decorating that boats are judged based on creatively and overall holiday spirit. Five judges will base their scores on decoration, originality, and enthusiasm. A winner in each of the following three categories will be chosen.
3rd Place: trophy and a $50 gift certificate from West Marine.
2nd Place: trophy and a $75 gift certificate from West Marine.
1st Place: trophy and a $100 gift certificate from West Marine.
All winners will be listed on a permanent plaque that will be displayed at the Moss Point Library.
